    What is Eczema?

Eczema or atopic dermatitis is dry, itchy rashes that can become cracked or blistered and

appear on the skin. It is not contagious. Most cases of eczema are found at birth or as a young

child, but you can get eczema as an adult.

    How did I get it?

The cause for eczema is not completely understood. However, it could possibly be genetics or

    environmental factors such as allergies.

    Will it ever go away?

In some cases, eczema does go away or at least get better. However, there is a possibility of

getting worse or staying the same.

    How do I treat it?

Make sure that your skin stays moisturized, take shorter showers/baths, use gentle soaps,

lessen your stress and be aware of things you are allergic to. There are also creams that are over

the counter or prescribed by your physician that can help control eczema.
